Expert Code & Architecture Review

# Get a second opinion on the change before you commit.

An independent review of one merge request, API contract, payment flow or architecture proposal. Upserto reads the agreed material and returns specific comments, trade-offs and questions your team can act on. The review can be commissioned on its own, without an implementation project.

## Follow the evidence to the fault.

Trace the affected code, explain the retry window and propose a check-and-write boundary with a testable remedy.

## When this is useful

Engineering teams and technical founders who already have a change or proposal and want an experienced external reviewer.

- A payment or backend change is ready for review, but failure handling and retries need another pair of eyes.

- An architecture or API proposal needs a clear assessment of its trade-offs before the team builds it.

- AI-generated code or an integration draft needs a human review of behavior, tests and access boundaries.

## How the work happens

- Agree the material and the review questionSend a short brief and identify the merge request, contract or diagram. Confirm the revision, relevant context and expected behavior. The starting package covers one small agreed artifact, not an entire repository.

- Review the design and its failure casesRead the affected code and supplied tests or compare the proposal with its stated constraints. Check the relevant interfaces, ownership rules, retries, permissions and operating assumptions. Each concern points to the supplied material.

- Discuss the comments and next actionsReceive an annotated diff or written review with priorities, proposed changes and open questions. A 30-minute walkthrough is included within the agreed review time. Your team decides how to address the comments and whether the change is ready to release.

## What your team receives

- An annotated diff or written review tied to the agreed revision.

- Prioritised concerns, suggested changes and checks still needed before acceptance.

- A 30-minute walkthrough and a clear record of what was reviewed.

## How does an expert review differ from an audit?

A review gives a second opinion on material you already have: a change, design or contract. An audit investigates a specific system problem using code, configuration and available evidence. If a review uncovers a question that needs reproduction or broader access, Upserto proposes that investigation separately.

Start with a clear scope

Focused expert reviews from $400

[Book a free 30-minute discovery call ↗](/contact)The $400 starting package covers up to three hours in total, including preparation, the written review and its walkthrough. Large diffs, multiple systems, test execution, vulnerability validation and implementation need a separate scope. Price and delivery date are confirmed before work starts.

Confidentiality, access, milestones and acceptance criteria are agreed before work starts. Please leave secrets out of your first enquiry.
